Laurence 'Larry' W. Welch

WELCH, Laurence Larry W.  72, of Burton, died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Timothy West officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Welch was born August 5, 1932 in Flint, the son of Laurence and Edna (Ford) Welch. He had resided in the Flint area his entire life. Mr. Welch married Margaret Kalfs on February 14, 1963 in Flint and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2001. Mr. Welch retired from GM Truck and Bus in 1985 after 30 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. 598, Burton Eagles Aire 3814 and Burton Moose Lodge. Surviving are: eight children, Larry Welch and wife, Patty of TX, Penny and husband, Ronald Shepard of IN, Timothy West and wife, Kelly of IN, Michael James Welch of Levering, Deborah and husband, Robert Porter of Clinton, Dawn Lott of MO, Gerald Foster of Flint, Robert Foster of TX; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; dear friends, Barbara Ann Johnson, Diane Johnson and fiancâ?s, Stan Larange.
