NATZEL, Laurence C. - age 91, of Swartz Creek, died September 4, 2020. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint with Rev. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrant. Burial to follow at Bendle Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM - 7 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a Rosary being prayed at 7PM. Visitation will also be held 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Laurence was born July 7, 1929 in Flint, the son of Clyde and Florence (Baggs) Natzel. He married Beverly D. Reddy on October 17, 1953 in Flint and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2019. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Laurence retired from Buick Motor Division of GM in 1988 after 40 years of service. Laurence was a longtime member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek and more recently was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Flint. He umpired Youth Baseball for many years. Laurence was a hands on and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving are: son, Robert (Deborah) Natzel of Mt. Morris; daughters, Mary (Kent) McVittie of Montrose, Rebecca (Ken Force) Natzel of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Calista (Gregory) Maynard of Flint, Jennifer (Adrian Jones) Natzel of Flushing, David (Ashley) Natzel of Swartz Creek, Nicholas (Elizabeth) McVittie of IN, Kimberly Natzel of Swartz Creek; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and six brothers, Charles, Alfred, John, Theodore, Robert and George Natzel. The family would like to extend a special thank you to McLaren Hospice nurse, Sara Young and social worker, Tammy Beavers for their devotion and care.
