GROSE, Lauren Milton- Age 82, of Flint Township, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at his residence. Â Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Â Dr. Roy McLaughlin officiating. Â Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Â Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 5-9 PM Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday, and at the church Thursday from 10:30 until time of the service. Â In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Â Lauren was born October 23, 1925 in Flint, the son of Ernest and Evah (Struble) Grose. Â He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army, from 1943 until 1946 as a combat Medic; He also received the Bronze Star. Â He married Frances Slemp in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1977; he then married Kerolie Escoto April 8, 1978 in Flint. Â He retired from Dupont in 1981 after 35 years of service. Â He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Â Surviving are: Â wife, Kerolie; daughter, Maria and husband John McDermott of Fenton; granddaughter, Stacy and husband Jeff Schwerin of Burton; grandson, Aaron and wife Jessica Johnson of Flint; 6 great grandchildren, Tyler, Conner and Landon Schwerin, Jules Sands, Jordan and Andrew Johnson; his faithful canine companions, Sydney and Noah.
