Laura Gemma Realmuto

June 15, 1922 — April 5, 2025

Linden

REALMUTO, Laura Gemma – At the remarkable age of 102, Laura Gemma Realmuto of Linden passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. David Howell officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc.

Born on June 15, 1922, in Trieste, Italy, Laura was the cherished daughter of Giovanni and Anna (Berni) Clementi. She married the love of her life, James Vincent Realmuto—an Italian-American soldier serving in World War II—on December 9, 1945, in Italy. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. James preceded her in death on July 13, 1990, but not a day passed without Laura holding him in her heart.

That same faithfulness and devotion carried into every area of her life. When she was kept from attending Mass, she faithfully watched the Outreach Mass every Sunday, remaining committed to the spiritual foundation that guided her.

Laura remained a gift to the world until her final days. Even into her 90s and 100s, she spent countless hours volunteering with The Desert Angel, a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to deployed U.S. military members. Her hands prepared thousands of these packages, offering comfort to servicemen and women across the globe. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love for her family, friends, and adoptive country has never faltered.

She is survived by her beloved children; Antonina (Stan) Nickowski of North Fort Myers, FL. Gianfranco (Ann) Realmuto of Hartselle, AL, and Laura (Phil) Quasarano of Linden

Laura also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever carry her love, laughter, and values in their hearts. She is also survived by her dear lifelong friends, Dolores Salvia and Laura Jean Beaudry.

She was reunited in Heaven with her parents; her husband; her five siblings; her daughter, Marialuisa Martin; grandchildren, Leonard and Heather Quasarano; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Brenden, Rachel, and Grant.

Laura’s joy and cheerfulness in the way she faced life will always be treasured by her loved ones—both here and in Heaven.

The Desert Angel will be sending care packages in memory of Laura—a fitting tribute to her lifelong generosity, compassion, and boundless heart.
