PAYTER, Laura Ann -age 57, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at McLaren - Flint. Services will be held 1 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at New Creation Church of God, 3472 W. Lennon Rd., Flint with Pastor Kevin Spencer and Dr. Herbert Banks officiating. Interment will be held later at Michigan Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 11 AM - 1 PM Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Study Fellowship International (www.bsfinternational.org) or for Revive Flint, write check to New Creation Church of God and put Revive Flint in memo line. Laura was born June 16, 1958 in Wyandotte, the daughter of Richard C. and Margaret "Maggie" S. (Fodor) Johnson. She was an executive secretary for Michigan Bell/Ameritech/AT&T and later became the Trade Show and Special Events Manager. Laura married Gregory M. Payter on September 18, 1982 in Wyandotte. Laura was a very active disciple of Jesus Christ. She was involved in the Bible Study Fellowship International as a Children's Leader (Women's Group, Flint, Evenings), Revive Flint / Time to Revive and New Creation Church of God serving as a prayer warrior, Prayer Chain member, Greeter and an Apples of Gold Mentor. Laura was also active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 316 as a Committee Member and the Friends of Perkins Library in Swartz Creek. Surviving are: husband, Gregory M. Payter of Swartz Creek; son, Gregory A. Payter of Swartz Creek; parents, Richard and Margaret "Maggie" Johnson of Taylor; brother, David R. (Cathy) Johnson of Garden City.
