Laura Grace Clifford

CLIFFORD, Laura G. - Age 81, of Gladwin, died at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sunday, January 25, 2004. She was born in Flint, August 23, 1922, the daughter of Roy and Velma O. (Ziegler) Clark. She was a Flint area resident for 60 years, moving to Gladwin in 1980. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School in 1940. She and James Clifford were married in Flint on August 28, 1942. Mrs. Clifford was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling to Florida, playing cards and bingo. But, most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Surviving are: her loving husband, James; her devoted children, Patricia A. Blum and husband Robert of Goodrich, Nancy L. Lamb and husband Phillip of Gladwin, Deborah I. Rowe and husband Robert of Flint; also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Melissa Racine and husband Darrin, Jeffrey Blum and wife Sara, Michelle Towne and husband Jeremy, Cheryl Lamb, Ashley Davidson and husband Ryan; 3 great-grandchildren, Dakota Racine, Olivia Racine and Matthew Davidson; 2 sisters, I. Lucille Davis in Ohio, Joyce Hyatt and husband Lonnie of Burton; 1 brother, G. Richard Clark of Flint; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Elgin Clark. Services will be 10AM Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., (just south of Hill Rd.), Chaplain Hank Messing will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8PM tonight, and Tuesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9PM. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
