PENDLETON, Larry Ward, age 61, of Fenton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Larry attended Northern High School Flint and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as an armor crewman and later as a drill sergeant at Ft. Knox. He married Peggy Smith in Fenton on February 23, 1974. Larry was employed early in life as a security officer at Genesee Valley, a police officer in New Lothrup, and as an auxiliary police officer in Fenton. He currently was employed at Nagel Precision as a pipefitter. Larry played the drums, and especially was fond of blues and jazz music. He enjoyed fishing, reading science fiction, and had a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband and father, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He will be remembered forever and missed dearly. Surviving are his wife, Peggy of Fenton; 3 children, Christopher Pendleton (Sherri) of Ft. Sill, OK, Dana Pendleton of Flint, Tammy Pendleton of Gaines; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Logan, Torey, Layla, Danielle, Kira; brothers-in-law, Ken Smith (Wendy), Brian Smith, Marty Smith (Kelly) all of Fenton; several nieces and nephews.
