Larry Donigan

DONIGAN, Larry J.-age 74 of Grand Blanc, died March 8, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 4PM Wednesday, March 14 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held 1PM until the time of service on Wednesday. Larry Joseph Donigan was born in Flint, Michigan on January 6, 1944. He graduated Flint St. Michael's High School class of 1962 and attended Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY. After college, Larry served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After enlistment, he began a long career with General Motors retiring with over 30 years. A member of Flint Bowmen's Archery Club, Larry's fondness of archery led to professional status where he qualified for Senior Olympic Games on several occasions. Larry loved the outdoors, especially his cabin deep in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Around town he would be found on the golf course. He was a member of the affectionately named "Wobblies" a men's senior golf crew and enjoyed playing cards with friends at the American Legion and Grand Blanc Country Club. Larry's unwavering passion for the outdoors was passed on to his children and grandchildren. On June 3, 2017 Larry celebrated 50 years of marriage with wife; Mary Kaye (Hodgson). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie (Garant) Donigan and Lloyd Donigan sister, Diane Donigan. Larry will be profoundly missed by his wife Mary Kaye (Hodgson) Donigan, son Michael Donigan (Donna Tartamella) of Flint, son Steven Donigan (Destiny) of Dover, DE, daughter Kristen Donigan of Chicago, IL, grandchildren Alexandria, Scott (Aryanna), Nathan, Chloe, Steven Jr. and great grand daughter Amelia.
