CARNEY, Larry James - Age 67, of Fenton, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday, September 18, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 & 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 9:30 AM until the time of service Friday at church. A vigil service will be held 7:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Larry was born July 7, 1942 in East Jordan, MI, the son of James and Grace (Swain) Carney. He was married to Marbah Solomon on June 6, 1964 in Grand Rapids. Mr. Carney was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He retired from General Motors with 39 years of service. Larry was one of the orginial members of the Fenton Horse Shoe Club and had also bowled on many area leagues. Surviving are: wife, Marbah; three daughters, Kathy and Dave Wolf of Russia, Brenda and Greg Long of Linden, Jenifer and Tom Studt of Fenton; grandchildren, Stephanie Wolf, Heather, Gregory and Christopher Long, Tiffany and Gary Haines, Tommy Studt, Gracee Carney and Kristy Studt; great granddaughter, Hope; siblings, Karen, Ron, Dee and Pat.
