BISHOP, Larry H. Â Went to be with the Lord on his 61st birthday, April 17, 2004. Born April 17, 1943, he was a longtime resident of Swartz Creek. A Delphi autoworker, he retired after 30 years of service as an experimental metal planner. He was a member of U.A.W Local 651 and was also employed at Marshall Fields. He was a long standing member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Flint, where he served as a leader of the Men for Mission group to Haiti, teen youth sponsor, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He served as an assistant volleyball coach at Genesee Christian School. He also enjoyed participating in McLaren Adaptive Golf Leagues. He was a loving husband to Carol (Rose) Bishop for 38 years, caring father to Melanie, Meredith and Michal, adoring grandfather to Madison, Morgan, Joshua, Graham and Blake. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Kevin Tykolis of Conway, AR; son-in-law, Brian Hungerford of Flint; daughter and son-in-law, Michal and Jerome Gennaria of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Madison, Joshua and Blake Tykolis, Morgan and Graham Hungerford; mother, Dorothy Bishop; siblings, Joan and Alan Chandler, Rick and Rita Bishop; father-in-law, Darrell Bud Rose; many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Meredith Hungerford; father, Harold Bishop; sister, Arlene Bishop; mother-in-law, Barbara Rose. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Maranatha Baptist Church, 3408 Miller Rd., Flint, with Rev. Roy Shelpman and Rev. Don Allbright officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11-3 and 4-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
