Larry Acker

ACKER, Larry Earl - Age 80, of Flint, died Saturday, December 19, 2020.  Services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (Live Streaming of the service can be viewed on Larry's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Pastor Dan Bowman officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral homes Tuesday from 4-8 PM.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Larry Earl Acker Memorial Fund.

Larry was born May 12, 1940 in Saginaw, the son of Earl and Lucille (Polaski) Acker.  He was a 1958 graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. He attended Flint Institute of Barbering.  He had resided in Flint for the past 57 years, coming from Saginaw.  He had been employed by AC Spark Plug.  Larry was a self employed barber for over 58 years. He was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church.  He also was a member of the Flint Barber Association.  Larry enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards, and most of all spending time with his family.

Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline; son, Earl (Stephanie) Acker of Macomb; daughter, Heidi (Sean) Adams of Bear Lake; grandchildren, Katelyn (Dallas) Hearit of Warren, Jonathan Adams of Bear Lake, Adam Acker and Chloe Acker both of Macomb; half brother, Michael Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Micinski of Flushing, Barb Stelzriede of Saginaw, and Judy Mohnk of Burt; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna LaFrance; step brother, Ron Pahassen; sister-in-law, Patricia Neitzke; and brother-in-law, Richard Mohnk.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
