Lanny Mills

Mills, Lanny Lee, age 54, of Gaines, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008. Funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 118 E. Lord St., Gaines. Visitation will be held 2-7 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Gaines. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the church building fund. Lanny was born in Corunna the son of Robert and Shirley (Hilgendorf) Mills. He was employed by Atlas Technology of Fenton and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Lanny married Susan Dolehanty at St. Joseph Church in 1975. Surviving are his wife, Susan; son, Mathew of Durand; father, Robert Mills of Gaines; sister, Christine and husband Chris Manchester of Ovid-Elsie; brother and sister-in-laws, Leo James (Martha)Dolehanty, Julia (James)Gooding, Marjorie Straughen, Mary (Don) Allison, Richard (Kathleen Lynn) Dolehanty, Ronald (Barb) Dolehanty, Louise Jarrad, Lorretta (Bob) Clifford, Shirley Dolehanty, Kathleen Dolehanty, Caroline Dolehanty, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, a daughter Jennifer, father and mother-in-law Leo F. and Wilma Dolehanty, and brother-in-law Randy Jarrad.
