Kurtiss Koons

KOONS, Kurtiss F. - Age 79, formerly of Lennon and Bay City, died November 10, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Kurtiss was born April 17, 1940 in Saginaw, the son of Charles and Nelly (Dane) Koons. Mr. Koons was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and retired from General Motors after 37 years of service. He is survived by his sons, Kurtiss Scott (Lisa) Koons and Kristopher Shane Koons; grandchildren, Jake, Sarah Ann, Nicole Marie and Michael; great-grandson, Harrison Michael; brothers, Charles (Judy) Koons, Paul (Lori) Koons; sister, Margaret Ann (Joel) Raddatz; his girlfriend, Janet Sue Dixon and her children, Keri and Kim.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah on December 15, 1997 and niece, Janelle.
