Kitty Leigh Dexter

April 20, 1932 — December 5, 2005

DEXTER, Kitty Leigh, age 73, of Fenton, died Monday, December 5, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. Rev. Gary Ingersoll and Rev. Wayne Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 6-8PM Tuesday and 1-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Kitty was born April 20, 1932 in Kentucky, the daughter of Frank and Annie Mildred (Sherbut) Doom. She was raised in Kentucky and was the valedictorian of her 1949 high school class. Kitty moved to the Fenton area in 1949, she then married Harold G. Dexter on August 19, 1950 in Hartland. Kitty was a Girl Scout Leader, involved in P.T.A., a blood donor, an avid reader, and very involved in the Detroit Area Corvair Club. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Harold; 5 children, Mildred 'Midge'and husband Jim Nickel of Fenton, Frances 'Fran' and husband Gary Ingersoll of Spring Hill, FL, Harold and wife Bonnie Dexter of Howell, Darold and wife Cathy Dexter of Fenton, Frank and wife Rachelle Dexter of Las Vegas, NE; 7 grandchildren, Tanya Tietema and husband Mark, Jennifer Ingersoll, Andrew Ingersoll, Benjamin Dexter, Elisabeth Dexter, Steve Dexter and wife Sarah, Katie Dexter; 2 great grandchildren, Kaylayha and Hawk Tietema; brother, Grant Doom of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Pfeiffer, brother, Charles Doom, sister Mary Lou Cowden and her parents.
