Kimberly Michelle Rush (51) passed away unexpectedly at her home in Gaines Township on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Kim is survived by her three children, Andrew David Rabb (30), Kaitlyn Kali Rush (27), and Kassidy Elyse Rush (23), and her ex-husband, Gregory (61). She is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Remster Rabb in 2011, her father, David Rabb in 2014, and her mother-in-law, Emma Jean Rush in 2020. She will be remembered as the strongest, most kind and loving woman in our lives.
Kim was born March 4, 1970 and was adopted three months later by Gloria and Dave. She was an only child and spent her youth going to church, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She went to Linden High School, then transferred to Swartz Creek High School for a better shot at going to college. Unfortunately, Kim didn’t make it to graduation, but she obtained her GED shortly after (with the highest grade in the state!). Kim tried several careers in her life, including accounting, sales, management, and serving. She was happiest as a server, taking care of customers and making sure everyone left with a smile on their face.
As a single mother, Kim was a Rockstar. Kim would give you the shirt off her back, even if it meant her having nothing left. Although her life did not always follow the path she imagined, she lived it to the fullest. She will be remembered by all for her infectious laugh and smile, and her love for helping others. Her kids will remember her undeniable commitment to be a better version of themselves every day. Her friends will remember her love and laugh that she brought with her everywhere. And her loved ones will remember her dedication to The Lord and her family. We will all miss her dearly and continue to keep her spirit alive as we grow into the life that she wanted for us all. Kim experienced life and love, happiness and heartache. She is loved. She is at peace. A celebration of life service will be held 11AM Thursday August 12 at Twin City Baptist Church, 5339 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc. Those desiring to do so may make contributions in her memory to the family, c/o: Sharp Funeral Homes, for funeral expenses. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
