BATES, Kimberly J. -- Age 39, of Clio, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Hurley Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Kimberly Bates Memorial Fund. Kimberly was born March 21, 1966 in Flint the daughter of Frederick Smithengale and Marian Bates. She had resided in Flint her entire life and was a 1986 graduate of Clio High School. Surviving are: mother Marian and husband Robert Miller of Clio; two daughters Mariah E. Villarreal, Tiffiany L. Brown; sister Theresa L. Crang and  Ray Crang of Mt. Morris; grandmother Shirley Kelly of Birch Run; aunts and uncles Julie and Scott Shifflet of Mt. Morris, Douglas Bates of Flint, Brian and Kim Bates of Clio; several cousins and special friends.
