Kimberly Abney

ABNEY, Kimberly Ann, of Flint, died November 19, 2017. Services will be held 3 PM Sunday, December 3 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the time of service Sunday, December 3. Those desiring may make contributions to the Kimberly Abney Memorial Fund. Kimberly was born December 23, 1955 in Flint, the daughter of Robert Wayne and Delores Helen (Geisenhaver) Gatlin. She was a 1974 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and received a Associates Degree from Mott Community College. She married David Abney in 1982 and he preceded her in death August 30, 2008. She retired in 2007 from Meijer after 32 years of service. Kimberly was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Flint. Kimberly enjoyed golfing, bowling, water skiing, and most of all spending time with her family. She lit up every room with laughter. Kim will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are: daughters, Lanesha Brannon of Grand Blanc and Natasha (Nicholas) Edgar of Flint; granddaughter, Natalie Edgar; grandson, Nathan Edgar; parents, Robert and Delores Gatlin of Davison; sister, Tammy (Al Dontje) Grimes of Grand Blanc; nieces, Ashley (Lee) Gotch and Megan Grimes; her companion, John Keith Garant of Flint; and her special cats.
