WEHNER, Kenneth Howard, -- Age 83, of Holly, went home to his Savior on Monday, June 13, 2016. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday June 18, at South Baptist Church 4091 Van Slyke Rd., Flint. Pastor Scott Snyder officiating. Burial to follow at Hadley Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will take place from 7-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint and again from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to South Baptist Church to be distributed to Forgotten Man Ministries, Jail Ministry and South Baptist Mission Construction Project. Ken was born in Bay County, Michigan, the second of three sons to Howard and Eleanor (Wegener) Wehner on April 29, 1933. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran School in Saginaw through 8th grade and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1951. He attended Michigan Technological University-Sault Ste. Marie, then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1956. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1961 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Ken was a Registered Professional Engineer and owned Wehner Engineering and Construction Consultants from 1975-2013. He served as Groveland Township Engineer for 36 years and was a past member of the Jaycees, International Institute and Mt. Holly Ski Patrol. Ken was a member of South Baptist Church in Flint since 1983 and served in several ministries including Alcoholics for Christ, Awana, Forgotten Man jail ministry and missionary construction projects in Canada, Africa and South America. Ken is survived by his daughter, Connie (Ricardo) Hernandez of Grand Rapids, MI, grandchildren Elena Hernandez of Lombard, IL, Olivia Hernandez of Chicago, IL and Max Hernandez of Grand Rapids, brother Larry (Carol) Wehner of Petoskey, MI and sister-in-law Ruth Wehner, of Escondido, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Wehner. Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
