Kenneth Tidrick

TIDRICK, Kenneth Andrew - age 87 of Flint Township, passed away October 15, 2022. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The family will receive friends from 11 AM - 1 PM Saturday, October 29 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County (www.geneseehumane.org). Kenneth was born July 20, 1935, in Freeport, OH. He was a 1954 graduate of Mary Crapo High School and attended GMI for skilled trades training.  He married Sue McPherson on October 5, 1957. After 39 years of service, Kenneth retired from General Motors Chevy Manufacturing, Plant 2A, as a Millwright with UAW Local 659. After retirement, he worked for Zellar Excavating and Lyle Hippensteel Contracting Company. Kenneth was a member of the Swartz Creek Mason Lodge. He is well known as a jokester and a humble hardworking husband, and father. Kenneth loved animals, hunting, fishing, tinkering in his barn, maintaining the family’s 15 acres but above all he loved his family. Surviving are wife of 65 years, Sue Tidrick; three children, Mary Sue (Chip) Thornton of Grosse Pointe, Penny K. (Michael) Dodge of Port Orange, FL, and Lance Robert (Chrissy) Tidrick of Shelby Township; four grandchildren, Erin and Chase Thornton, Justin King and Ava Tidrick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern Mitchell and stepfather, Robert Mitchell. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
