Kenneth Lavern Schabel, Jr.

SCHABEL, Kenneth Laverne Jr. -- Age 78, of Burton, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Select Specialty at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 4 PM Friday, December 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral Friday. Mr. Schabel was born March 19, 1928 in Flint. He had resided in Burton for many years. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Chevrolet Metal Fab. with 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling, bowling, and more bowling. Surviving are: three children, Diane and husband Paul Brown of Mt. Morris, Danny Schabel and wife Cindy of Swartz Creek, Deborah and husband Sean Martin of Perry; five grandchildren, Brian Schabel, Daniel and Luke Smith, Matt Schabel, and Cassie Martin; great-grandchildren, Justin, Dakota, and Misty; sister, Eileen and husband Fran Stoner of Harrison. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Laverne Schabel; mother and step-father, Florence and Pete O'Neil; brother, Dwayne Schabel; and grandson, Richard Schabel.
