PROMENCHENKEL, Kenneth Carol  Age 79, of Flint, died Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, September 8, 2003 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint with Rev. Msgr. Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint where veterans honors will be performed under the auspices of VFW Chevrolet Post 3087. Visitation will be from 12-9 Saturday and Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Sunday evening followed by a Knights of Columbus memorial service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Promenchenkel was born November 4, 1923 in Flint, the son of William and Lena (Keller) Promenchenkel. He married Rita Elizabeth Folaron on December 1, 1945 in Flint. Mr. Promenchenkel had resided in Flint his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II where he served 33 months on a hospital ship. Mr. Promenchenkel retired from GM-Buick on January 1, 1975 after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 8245, U.A.W. Local 599, VFW Chevrolet Post 3087 and the American Legion. Surviving are: wife, Rita of Flint; daughter, Theresa L. and husband, David A. Lagness of Flushing; son, Gregory J. and wife Mary E. Promenchenkel of Flint; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, Lawrence Roy and DuWayne Ray Promenchenkel; six brothers; two sisters.
