FERGUSON, Kenneth Derwood - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, passed to Eternal Life Sunday, April 26, 2020. A private family service will be held followed by burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Kenneth was born February 25, 1934 in Hubbard Lake, the son of George and Erie (McKinnen) Ferguson. He was a 1953 graduate of Alpena High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He Married Rita J. Marion June 3, 1961 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint. Kenneth had resided in Swartz Creek since 1975. He retired from Fisher Body 1 South Unit after 33 years of service. After Retiring from General Motors he went on to work as a Consultant for PPG and Saturn of Tennessee. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church (former member of St. Leo Catholic Church) where he also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Flint Executives Club, and was a Cub Scout Master at Sobey Elementary School. He Enjoyed Golfing, Bowling and visiting his "Beloved" Swartz Creek Race Track. He also truly enjoyed the Casino and telling a "True Story." Surviving are: his wife, Rita; Son, Michael (Christina) Ferguson of Davison; Daughter, Kimberly Ferguson of Swartz Creek; Grandchildren, Amber Ferguson ,Jacob& Joshua Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews,sister-in-laws Hertha Ferguson, Erna Ferguson, and Marie Russell (Larry) and Many Nieces and Nephews and Special Friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Jack, Bob, Don, Richard, Ferris, Victor, Rex and sister, June Wagner.In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army of Flint,, North End Soup Kitchen of Flint, or St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek.
