Kenneth Decorte

DeCORTE, Kenneth Norman - Age 89, of Dexter, died Sunday,  November 15, 2020.  Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Kenneth was born August 27, 1931 in Flint, the son of Edward and Neta (Thomas) DeCorte.  He was a 1950 graduate of Flint Central High School and he received an Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.  He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the  U.S. Air Force. Kenneth married Sandra Lee Smith August 4, 1951 in Flint.  He retired in 1987 from the National Bureau of Standards; and he had also worked for the City of Flint.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gaithersburg, MD.  He enjoyed golfing, flying, and traveling.

Surviving are: his wife of 69 years, Sandra; daughter, Christine DeCorte of Dexter; grandchildren, Justin (Bonnie) Thornbladh of Colorado, Molly Thornbladh of Ypsilanti, Abigail (Gareth) Elliott of Rhode Island, and Robert (Ashton) Thornbladh of Saline; great grandchildren, Myles, Ellie, Chloe, Kelsie, Maximus, and Magnus; sister, Sandra Sue King of Mt. Morris; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Szaroletta.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
