Ken was born on January 5, 1946, in Flint, Michigan to the late Oscar and Laura Carlson. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1965. He then continued his education at Mott Community College in skilled trades, becoming a Millwright for General Motors from which he retired after 41 years. He was was a proud member of UAW Local 599.
Ken loved music and his played a major role in his life. He was always singing a song and was fluent on a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, trumpet and banjo, the latter of which he played with the Auto City Banjo Club. He enjoyed playing golf and was a volunteer Marshall at Buick Open for many years.
Kenneth is survived by his two children, Scott Carlson and Robin Carlson; stepchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Fowler and Sherri (Thomas) Cole; four grandchildren, Brett Carley, Brittany Carley, Austin Fowler and DeShawn Buck; brother-in-law, Robert (Susie) Gaines; and nieces and nephews...
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bethany; parents, Oscar (Laura) Carlson and eleven siblings.
