SCHADLE, Kelsoe Lee (Kelly), age79 of Grand Blanc, died Monday September 14, 2009 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Kelly was born on June 2, 1930 in Mascoutah, IL the son of William and Alma (Hans) Schadle. Growing up in Mascoutah, so close to St. Louis, fueled Kelly's love of baseball and made him a lifetime Cardinal's fan. After completing a year as a Minor League pitcher for the Cardinal's, he left for Owosso, MI where he began his creer in retail sales. In 1951 he answered his call to duty and served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly two years in Korean and was honorably discharged from the USMC Reserves in 1959. While in Korea, he received the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After returning to Michigan, he met and married Diane Jancius, his wife of 51 years. Both worked in retail sales and were avid golfers. Kelly was a true gentleman, a sharp dresser, had a quick wit, and had many life-long friends. He found the joy in life through all its winding roads. Kelly will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Diane Jancius Schadle, Scott Schadle, daughter Suzanne Schadle Ross (Archie Ross), two grandchildren Emma and Jonathan Ross, and his sister-in-law, Ruth Schadle. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth Schadle and Nelson Eddings. Relatives and friends are invited to the Great Lakes National Cemetery on Belford Rd., in Holly where there will be U.S. Marine Corps Honors at 11:00 A.M. followed by a scattering of the cremated remains in the scatter garden of the cemetery. A processional line-up of family and friends will meet at 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers. please consider a memorial gift in Kelly's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Flint in care of the Deacon's Breakfast.
