Kelly Treadway

TREADWAY, Kelly Marie, DNP - Age 41, of Gaines, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service will be available on Kelly's obituary page at www.sharpuneralhomes.com).  Pastor Jim Nelson officiating.  Burial in Bendle Cemetery, Clayton Township.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home 5-8 PM Monday, 1-4 and 5-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM Wednesday until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Hospice House of Shiawassee County.

Kelly was born April 17, 1982 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Tim and Rhonda (Hoekstra) Kositzky.  She was a graduate of Manistee High School.  She received her BSN and Doctorate Degree in nursing from the University of Michigan Flint.  She worked as a provider at Family Doc's Clinic and Ascension Clinic in Fenton.  During her 5 year battle with cancer she demonstrated great courage and strength, as she became an inspiration to many.  Kelly enjoyed visiting with friends and family, while playing cards or gathering around a campfire.  She looked forward to annual camping trips with relatives, often times bringing along our grandchildren.  Tending to her flower garden with her daughter was always considered time well spent, an activity that was passed on to her by her mother.

Surviving are: husband, James Treadway; daughter, Breanna Treadway; step daughter, Meggan (Willard) Davis; grandchildren, Skylar, Decklan, DaeLynn and Lakien; great grandchild, Gracelynn; grandmother, Virginia "Ginger" Kositzky; parents, Tim and Rhonda Kositzky; brother, Jeremy (Jennifer) Holwerda; sisters, Amber (Randy) Boerema and Dana (Adam) Priestly; nephews and nieces, Kerington, Landon, Olivia, Isaiah, Hudson, Harper, Kaelynn, Grayson; and many aunts, uncles as well as great nephews and great nieces.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene and Dorothy "Toots" Hoekstra and Kenneth Kositzky.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
