Kelly Vin McWhirter

Kelly Vin McWhirter, age 60, of Flushing, passed away. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and sharing memories will take place at 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. A memorial gathering will take place from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family. Kelly was born on July 14, 1963 in Tacoma, Washington the daughter of William and Cherie (Steere) Johnson. Kelly was well known in Genesee County. She was the board coordinator for the Genesee County Board of Commissioners. Kelly previously worked for the City of Flint Police Department and the Genesee County Sheriffs Department. When Kelly was not working she could be found at home reading a good book or traveling.

She is survived by her loving children, Adrian and Sarah (Tommy) McWhirter; grandson, Isaiah McWhirter; father, William Johnson; brother; David Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and sister's in law, Carrie Arnz and Tonya Johnson.  

Kelly was preceded in death by her mother, Cherie Johnson; brother, Robbie Johnson; and nephew, Xavier Johnson.
