Fenton

SHEPHERD, Keith Porter-Pitts (Joseph) "Pittsy" Fenton-age 80, passed away peacefully in his home on Lake Fenton surrounded by family, Monday July 5 2021. Keith was born April 7 1941 in Flint, the son of William and Portia Shepherd. Respecting his wishes there will be no funeral service, instead there will be a Memorial held in his honor at a later date, where his ashes will be laid to rest with his parents and siblings at the Benzonia Township Cemetery where he spent many years taking his children and family camping off his land in Honor MI. There will also be a Mass honored in his name at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton on January 9 2022 at 10:00am. In addition to this the sanctuary candle will be lit in his name for the week of July 25-31 2021. Keith retired from GM Truck and Bus assembly local #598. He enjoyed many favorite spots with loved ones up north and created lifelong memories for so many, tubing down the Platte River, climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes, trips trains and shopping in Traverse City, cinnamon rolls from the cherry hut, pizza dinner at the hungry tummy in Beulah, and swimming in Crystal Lake. Keith looked forward to his frequent traveling trips to visit his children and grandsons, fishing in Florida with his son and boys, and shopping and spa days getting pampered by his daughters. Keith's favorite thing was being the captain of his double decker pontoon and driving his loved ones around Lake Fenton and diving off the top. His favorite holiday was 4th of July where he enjoyed the belly flop which took place off his pontoon, and fireworks from Case's Island. He had a passion for horse racing and spent many years betting on an "extremely fast race horse" and training harness race horses. He was a boxer in the Golden Gloves, and an avid card player which he played every week with friends for years at "choir practice." He enjoyed shooting guns, boating, hunting, camping, golfing, dancing with his wife, tea parties with his sister and granddaughters, and taking his grandsons to Hooters. Nothing brought him greater joy than the many years babysitting and time spent with his granddaughters and grandsons. He was the proudest Dad and Grandfather. His Wife, 5 Children, and 11 grandkids were the center of his life. Everyone who knew him Loved him dearly.
