ALDER, Keith Howard "Bucky" Age 95, of Fenton, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on June 13, 2018. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Rev. Donald Dennis officiating. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. He was born to Raleigh and Sarah Leona (Balmer) Alder on May 31, 1923 in New Brighton, PA. Bucky was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and Mott Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving during World War II in the Guadalcanal Campaign on Solomon Island, Bougainville Island, Okinawa Island, Japan and other smaller islands. Bucky was very proud of his country, his flag, to be a Marine, and he loved his God. When he was younger, he mowed the field on Tigers Stadium. On October 9, 1948, he married Shirlee McGregor and raised 2 daughters, Sally Kay and Carol Jo. He was married to Shirlee until she passed away on November 4, 1973. He met Carol Ann at Michigan Bell, where they both worked. As they started to date he called her his "Black Hair Beauty". They married on August 4, 1979. He was "The Best" husband "The Best" stepfather to Jamelle, Eric and Heather. He loved sports, football, he bowled on many leagues through the years and golf, where he received a Hole In One trophy. He also played on his church softball team. Bucky was a member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Flint for 38 years. He worked at Michigan Bell Telephone for 42 years and had various jobs, including, installation of lines in new homes, Outdoor Linesman, Repair Foreman and he worked his way up to Toll Test Foreman. He had a big heart, filled with love and was caring, giving and he loved to crack a good joke or a funny. Surviving are: his wife and Black Hair Beauty, Carol Ann Alder; daughter, Sally (Bob) Redman; step-sons, Jamelle Schlytter and Eric (Jan) Schlytter; step-daughter, Heather (Mark) McKellar; grandchildren, Bob (Wilma) Redman, Jr., Ron (Lana) Redman, Chris (Rachel) Redman, Nicki Rox, Chelsea Turner, Keagan, Garrett, Ashton, and Skylar McKellar; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Angela, Cage, Taylor, Josephine, Rafe, Orrin, Issaach, and Ammon Redman, Ivan Jax, Charlette Ann Crothers; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Thank you, Chelsea Turner for all your extra help and care. Also, thank you, special friends, Carrie, Louis, and Jan for your love and care.
