Baxter-Foxworthy, Kay Joanne - Age 74, of Linden, Michigan, died on Friday, January 12, 2018 at home after a short battle with cancer. Kay was born February 1, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Clyde and Ruth Baxter. From the time of her childhood to the end of her life, those that knew Kay knew of her love of laughter,her Faith, musical talent and intellect. Kay was a 1961 graduate of Redford High School and attended Wayne State University. She was a resident of Almont, Michigan from 1963-1998, where she spent 20 years working at the Henry Stephens Memorial Library in Almont. Kay later moved to the Canton, Michigan area and worked at the Plymouth District Library prior to settling in the Linden area in 2002. Surviving Kay are her children whom she shared with Robert A. Torney- daughters, Janice Nacker, Carolyn (Tim) Rietz; son, Rob Torney; brothers, John (Clare) Baxter and Bill (Barb) Baxter; sister in law, Shirley Baxter; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her husband Darwin Foxworthy, her parents(Clyde and Ruth), Her dad, Jack Baxter, her daughter, Jennifer Torney, and her brother James Baxter. A memorial service will be held on February 24, 2018 at 11am at the Linden United Methodist Church, 201 S. Bridge St., Linden.
