Kathy Buchanan

BUCHANAN, Kathy Leona - age 64, of Lapeer, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Karmanos Cancer Institute. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 23, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Kevin Harbin officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Kathy was born February 16, 1950 in Flint, the daughter of Gerald John and Gwendolyn Fern (Prouse) Owen. She married Dennas Buchanan on March 13, 1970. Kathy was the office manager for Dr. James Lum for 31 years. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed vacations in Myrtle Beach, crafting, golfing and shopping. She also loved trips with her group of friends. Surviving are: husband, Dennas Buchanan of Lapeer; three children, Michelle (Ryan) Hoffman of Roscommon, Krista Buchanan of Traverse City, Steven (Ciara) Buchanan of Birmingham; eight grandchildren, Trent, Kaitlyn, Brendon, Kyle, Hunter, Nolan, Kota and Calder; three brothers, David Owen of San Diego, CA, Timothy Own of Glendale, AZ, William (Isala) Owen of Sand Diego, CA.
