STANLEY, Kathryn Irene - Age 63, of Swartz Creek, died November 9, 2011 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday, November 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Kevin Harbin officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 PM Friday, and 10 AM until the time of the funeral Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Kathryn was born February 21, 1948 in Goodrich. She was a 1966 graduate of Flint Central High School and a lifelong resident of Genesee County. She married Gary Stanley on April 21, 1978 in Burton. She was a member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church where she sang in their choir, a member of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Durand PTA. She was a seamstress for Smooth Steps and worked on Christmas at Whiting. Surviving are: husband Gary; six children, Lisa (Russ) Ambrose of Plainwell, Theresa (James) McGregor of Vernon, Kym (Jason) Boggs of Flushing, Richard (Kristie) Stanley of Bonita Springs, FL, Heather Stanley of Flint Township, Adam Stanley of Swartz Creek; eighteen grandchildren; brother Donald (Dorothy) Tomkinson of McMillan, MI. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Tomkinson; mother Shirley Hajek; step-father Tony Hajek; and granddaughter Morgan McGregor.
