SALIM, Kathryn - of Frankenmuth, passed away, Monday, December 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 5, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Kathryn was born in Ann Arbor. She married Frederick E. Salim and they had 3 daughters. She spent most of her life in Flint and lived in Frankenmuth for the past 18 years. She earned her bachelors and masters degrees and worked for 24 years at U of M - Flint as an Assistant to the Library Director. She enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens, studying and teaching French, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid U of M Football fan. Surviving are: daughter, Patricia and husband, Paul Chonich of Long Lake; daughter, Marcia and grandsons, Brent and Bryce Gainer of Frankenmuth; daughter, Carole Nemecek of Irving, TX; sister Margaret Hillaker of St. Johns; many nieces and nephews.
