Kathryn Ann Henderson-King

Kathryn Ann Henderson-King, age 71, of Fenton, passed away on Saturday, October, 19, 2024 at Henry Ford Detroit. A funeral service will take place 1:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton with burial following at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of service Friday. 

Kathy was born on June 27, 1953, in Flint the daughter of the late Robert Henderson and Betty (Fricks) Van Auken. She graduated form Carman High School, class of 1971. Kathy continued her education at Western Michigan University earning her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked for Hurley Medical Center for many years as the Director of Rehab Services until her retirement. Kathy and Thomas King Jr. were united in marriage on October 6, 1990. She was a member of Freedom Center and Zonta Woman's Group. Kathy loved to spend time with her family and numerous friends. She enjoyed entertaining and she was never a stranger to anyone. In her free time Kathy loved cooking, shopping and decorating for the holidays and seasons. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; sisters, Barbara Hall and Jamie (John) Favazza; father-in-law, Thomas King Sr.; mother-in-law, Marie Woodsonbey; sister-in-law, Karla King; nieces and nephews, Courtney (Greg) Hummel, Vince (Jennifer) Crimi, Ryann Crimi, Ashley Hall (Craig), Alison Hall (Jason), Paige King, Ryan Smith and Taylor Smith; "Nana" to great niece and nephew, Kennedy and Aidan; dog, Bentley; special friends, the pink flamingos; and several cousins, great nieces and nephews.. 

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Wiens, and sister-in-law, Ce'Nina Smith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Davita Dialysis in Fenton for the care and compassion they gave to Kathy and the outpouring love and support from the Freedom Center staff and church families.
