Kathryn Frances Christopher

CHRISTOPHER, Kathryn Frances "Kay" - age 85 of Fenton, died Sunday, June 23, 2024. A celebration of life will be held 11 AM Friday, June 28, 2024, at Silver Lake Park, 16000 Jennings Rd, Fenton, MI 48430. Kay was born December 29, 1938, in Detroit, the daughter of August John and Florence Marie (D'Aigle) Fischer. She was a graduate of Redford High School and Wayne State University. Kay married Wilbur Allen Christopher in 1958 and he preceded her in death in 2023. Kay worked as the Assistant Branch Manager at Michigan National Bank, Executive Director of Young Peoples Theater at St. Charles Community College in St. Peters, MO and for Headstart as an Area District Supervisor. Kay was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, a member of the Board of Directors for Hartland Players for 10 years and served as Hartland Players Adopt A Seat Chairperson for many years. Kay enjoyed theater, reading, gardening, and doing anything with family and friends. She taught her family how to think deeply and be open minded. One glass of wine, and she was a hoot. She always had everyone laughing with her signature sayings. On this day, she'd probably say, "what do you want, egg in your beer?". Surviving are: four children, Rachel (Jim) Hines, Daniel (Debra) Christopher, Scott (Carol) Christopher and Kirsten (Angie) Voiles; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Christopher, Crystal, Jeni, Carrie, Skylar, Carlee, Jackson, Mackenzie, Logan and Axl; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Florence Fischer; husband, Wilbur Allen Christopher, Sr., son, Wilbur Allen Christopher, Jr., four brothers, John, Joseph, James and Jerome Fischer; two sisters, Mae "Rita" Hathaway and A.
