THAYER, Kathleen L. - age 48, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, June 4, 2010 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM until the time of mass Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Kathy was born April 7, 1962 in Flint, the daughter of Ray and Shirley (Upleger) Trepton. She married Bruce Thayer on February 24, 1984. Kathy was employed at Genesys Health Systems in the Payroll Department. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Kathy loved the outdoors, gardening, bicycling, traveling and her northern home. Surviving are: husband, Bruce Thayer; two sons, Clint and Kenny Thayer; parents, Ray and Shirley Trepton of Hawks, MI; brother, Joe Trepton of Lapeer; parents-in-law, Gail and Irene Thayer; brother-in-law, Larry Thayer and wife, Paula; two sisters-in-law, Karen and husband, Mark Huelskamp, Diane Letourneau; many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Genesys / Hurley Cancer Institute, Genesys Health Systems and Karmonos Cancer Institute.
