Kathleen Lucas

Kathleen "Kathy" H. Lucas, age 77, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 2PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. The visitation will take place Friday, December 23, 2022, starting at 12PM until 2PM at Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek. Online condolences can be shared at: www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Kathy was born on November 1, 1945, in Flint, Michigan to the late George (Alice) Emery. She graduated from Flint Northern High School. Kathy married the love of her life William "Bill" on February 21, 1969, and they were blessed with six children. Bill preceded her in death in 2016. Kathy was a petite, feisty woman who was a force to be reckoned with. Kathy was an excellent chef; cooking came natural to her so much so that recipes never had to be written down. In earlier years Kathy and Bill traveled the 50 states and actively took part in local politics. Above all Kathy cherished her family and her fondest memories were those spent with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her 5 children, Douglas Briggs, Lori Mike Bernard, Darin Briggs, Alicia (Rick) Baldwin and Billie (Jason) Oyler; 15 grandchildren, Sarah, Douglas Jr., Teresa, Michael II, Timothy, Brandon, Alex, Katie, Chelsea, Andrew, Fletcher, Drew, Zach, Peyton and Lucas; 8 great-grandchildren, brother, George (Judy) Emery; brother-in-law, John (Frank) Lucas; sister-in-law Carole and very dear friend of 70 years, Sally Stuart. She is further survived by many other family members and friends too numerous to list. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, William and her son, William Charles III.

Kathy's family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Henry Mendoza for taking care of their mom for the past 50 years and to RN Becca for her wonderful care shown to Kathy while at the hospital.
