Kathleen "Kathy" Briolat, age 76, of Flushing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on February 7, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, Kathy was the cherished daughter of Clint and Marie (Arnold) Rogers.
Kathy grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Fenton High School. She went on to earn an associate degree and worked as a dedicated legal secretary. It was during her early career in Flint that Kathy met the love of her life, Marshall Briolat. They married and built a beautiful life together, sharing 56 wonderful years as husband and wife and raising two children who were the light of their lives.
Kathy chose to focus her early years on being a devoted stay-at-home mom, lovingly raising her children with unwavering care and support. Later, she also worked at Fisher Body and Head Start in Flint, where her warmth and generosity touched many lives.
Kathy will be remembered for her kind, compassionate, and generous spirit. She had a remarkable talent for making jewelry and took great joy in sharing her creations. Kathy had a unique way of brightening someone’s day by gifting her handmade earrings to waitresses, receptionists, or even kind strangers she encountered. Her sense of humor, selflessness, and friendship left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Being a grandmother, or “GaGa,” brought Kathy unparalleled joy. She lovingly cared for her grandchildren while their parents worked, creating treasured memories for both her and her grandchildren. These years were among the most precious of her life.
Kathy’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love lives on in her children and grandchildren, to whom she passed down her values and zest for life. Her favorite moments were those spent surrounded by family and friends, whether at home or wherever laughter and love could be found.
Kathy is deeply missed by her children, Cyndi Maynard (Derek) and Marshall Briolat, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Hailee Maynard, Marshall Briolat III, and Quinn Maynard; her brother, Clint Rogers (Carol), and sister, Martha Rogers; as well as many nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law, and lifelong friends Ron and Jan Bissonnette.
Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marshall, who passed away just weeks before her, as well as her parents, Clint and Marie Rogers; her nephew, Clint (CJ) Rogers; her parents-in-law, Marshall and Rose Briolat; and siblings-in-law Jeannette and Jack Peruski, Eugene and Geraldine Briolat, and Richard Peruski.
