Katherine Gertrude HARWOOD

HARWOOD, Rev. Katherine Gertrude - age 93, of Fenton, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Fenton Extended Care. Private services will be held. Mrs. Harwood was born March 15, 1918 in Gaines, the daughter of Harry Seymore and Edith Mae (Shaw) Wykes. She married Elmer Harwood on June 1, 1935 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Harwood was a minister with Transcendence for Humanity Church for many years and was a writer. Surviving are: four children, Patricia (Carl) Hyde of Linden, Crystal (Larry) Palmer of Fenton, Harry Harwood of Fenton, Tim (Tina McGinnis) Harwood of Flushing; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by: two sons, Richard and Tom Harwood; daughter, Barbara Dean; two granddaughters, Stephanie Harwood and Gloria Dean; sister, Kathleen Corey, two brothers, Kenny and Keith Wykes.
