Katherine Adamaitis

ADAMAITIS, Katherine Joan- Age 83, of Durand, died Sunday, December 20, 2015. She was born June 11, 1932 in Durand to John and Ruth (Jones) Baumchen. She married Albert Adamaitis on August 20, 1950 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Deerfield Township. Together they had three children. They resided in the Linden area until 1973, when the family relocated to Byron. Katherine is survived by children, Bonnie White, Deborah (Samuel) Stiff and Allen Adamaitis; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sara) White, Jenny (Jeremy) Conner, Michael Stiff, Adam White, Shawn (Ginger) White and Samantha Stiff. She was blessed with great grandchildren including, Amelie and Lorelei White, Maxwell Conner and Liam White; sister, Virginia Kurczewski Becker; sister-in-law, Julia Baumchen; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert and several siblings. Katherine's great love in life was her family; she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. She also enjoyed crocheting, was an avid reader and cheered for the Detroit Red Wings whenever they played. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Road, Howell. Fr. Gregg Pleiness celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery . Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday with a Rosary being prayed at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden.
