BICKLEY, Katharine Louise -- Age 91 of Grand Blanc died June 1, 2015. A memorial mass will be held 11AM Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 S. Gale Rd, Goodrich, Fr. Michael Kuchar celebrant. Internment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, and also from 10AM until the time of service at the church Monday. A vigil service will take place 7PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Canada Creek Ranch Ladies' Auxiliary. Katharine was born December 29, 1923 the daughter of Walter and Helen (Adkins) McCaughna in Kansas City, MO and moved to Flint at the age of 8. She is a graduate of Flint Central High School. Katharine married Samuel M. Bickley in 1942. In 1963, she realized her dream of becoming a registered nurse and went on to work most notably as Clinical Director for Planned Parenthood in Flint. After moving to Canada Creek Ranch in Atlanta, MI in 1974 she became the public health nurse for Cheboygan County. While in Northern Michigan, she was an avid quilter and was a charter member of the Thunder Bay Quilters. Survived by husband of 72 years, Samuel; children, Ann (Ken) Becker of Wisconson, David (Mary E.) Bickley of Atlanta, Charles C. Bickley of Elk Rapids, and Mary Bickley of Grand Blanc; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and her very dear cousin Robert Meyers.
