Karla "Susie" Foutch

FOUTCH, Karla "Susie", age 78, of Swartz Creek, passed away on November 14, 2024 Her life will be celebrated in a funeral service to be at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, located at 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The service will be officiated by Deacon Ron Kenney, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home. Karla was born on September 29, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Effie Lucretia (Ward) Stokes. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1965 and later earned her degree in nursing from Mott Community College, becoming a registered nurse. In addition to her nursing career, Karla was a dedicated dog breeder, known for her Yorkshire Terriers and Shih Tzus. Karla had a remarkable spirit and an immense love for people, which was evident to all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Foutch; her three children, David Foutch, Michelle (James) Zayac, and Richard Foutch; and her cherished grandchildren, Jenna Hasyn, Jamie, and Jessica Zayac. She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Judy Nelson, Shirley Richards (Howard Beatty), Nancy (Larry) Troyer, Howard (Angie) Nelson, and Ruthie Graul, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply. Karla was preceded in death by her father, Harold Stokes; her mother and step-father, Effie and Homer Nelson; and her brothers Hal "Butch" Stokes, Jr. and Homer "Bobo" Nelson, Jr. In honor of her memory, tributes can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
