Karen Sue BLANKENSHIP - SMITH

BLANKENSHIP-SMITH, Karen Sue - Age 53, of Burton, went home to be with the Lord and other loved ones January 5, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband, all her children, family, friends, and special nieces and nephews. Services will be held in her honor at 2 PM Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation from 1-2 PM. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent to the family to help with medical expenses. Karen was born on November 30, 1960 in Flint. On January 6, 1994 she married Frank Smith at Trapper Joe's in Burton. Karen loved to sing and it was through their combined love of music that the two met and fell in love. She is survived by husband Frank; sons, James and Jesse Foust, Blake Smith; step-sons, Jonathan, Joshua, and Jeremy Smith, Timmy Plummer; step-daughter, Jamie Damman; one granddaughter Taelyn Smith; mother Mildred Blankenship; brother Alvin Blankenship; sisters Debi and husband Chris McGlashen, Pamela Crafts; in-laws, Herman and Thelma Smith; brothers-in-law, Glenn and Timmie Smith; special children she held close to her heart Brian Mahaffey, Peyton Turner, and Courtney Morgan; as well as many more family and special friends.
