MAYNARD, Karen Sue - Age 65, of Lake Orion, died April 29, 2020. Private services for family and close friends will be held. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the family. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Karen was born July 4, 1954 in Pontiac, the daughter of Nicholas and Louise (Palen) Marks. She married Bruce Maynard September 8, 1984 in Lake Orion. Karen and her husband have been together for 35 years, a one of a kind love. She adored him and he adored her. Karen was the apple of Bruce's eye. They created two beautiful children together. They loved being parents. Karen was a member of the Lake Orion Church Of God. She worked for Faurecia Automotive as a IMDS Coordinating Engineer for roughly 10 years before retiring. Karen was a one of a kind soul! Family, friends, and the Lord were her life. She was a mother hen to any group and served the Lord until her last breath. Karen never asked anyone for anything and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. Karen's hobbies included countless years serving the jail ministries, teaching bible study, singing hymnals, Sunday mornings, worshipping her faith in church, and was always teaching someone something. You could often find Karen in the kitchen cooking, singing and dancing. She was always the life of the party. Karen devoted taking care of her mother for many years. She adored everyone. Karen always had a smile on her face and would always make a bad situation good. She loved spending time with her family. Karen was an extremely hard worker and an overachiever. She never backed down from a challenge, she would always find a way. Karen struggled with health issues almost every day of her life, but you would never know it, she just kept going and going. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughter, Sarah (Travis) Carlson of Grand Blanc; siblings, Mike (Nina) Marks of Lake Orion, Jack (Jeanette) Marks of Bay City, Andrew (Carol) Marks of Lake Orion, Brian (Deborah) Marks of Lapeer, Sharon (Thomas) Ferguson of Brown City, Jay (Linda) Marks of Burton; And a huge extended family.
