Karen Lynn (Starks) Giedrojc

Giedrojc, Karen Lynn (Starks) - Age 66, of Flint, passed away August 24, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Road, Burton. Father Georges Bidzogo, Celebrant. Visitation 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM Mass time Wednesday at the church. Contributions in memory of Karen may be made to C.C.W. Council of Catholic Women or Michigan Special Olympics Area 13.

Karen was born October 23, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Robert Starks and Rosemary (Boyle ) Starks. She married John David Giedrojc on August 5, 2000 in Flint. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton and was a very active volunteer for the annual festivals. She worked at the Meijer Store on Hill Road, where she met her husband, John. She also worked as a custodian for Carman Schools. She was very active in the Michigan Special Olympics Area 13 and was awarded Athlete of the Year. She loved all sports but was an avid fan of University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. She was a member of the Linden Lions' Club where she served as a past President. She loved "Snoopy" and spending time with family. 

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, John; two sisters, Laurie (Rich) Pierce and Nancy (Brian) Jenkins; brother-in-law, Eugene Baker; sister-in-law, Elaine (Ed) Dobrowolski; brother-in-law, Buddy (Barb) Giedrojc; was Aunt KK to nieces and nephews, Emily (Gare) Satore, Andrew Baker, Catherine Jenkins and Sarah Jenkins; great-nephew, Elliot Satore, and step-mom, Darilyn Starks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joy Baker; and nephew, Charles Alexander Baker.
