Karen Jean Ellison (Meeks), age 36, formerly of Pennsylvania passed away on September 22, 2022 in Swartz Creek, Mi. Born May 9, 1986 in Flint, Mi to Sandra Banks of Swartz Creek. Karen was 1 of 5 children. She attended Carmen Ainsworth High School, class of 2004, and Mott Community College. She later married and had 2 children, Lexi Jade Ellison and Logan James Ellison. She was an incredible Mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt  and friend to many. Karen was a light to all who knew and loved her. She had the most beautiful smile that brightened every room she entered and her laugh was so contagious. The love she bestowed upon her family will always be remembered. She was known as Aunt Koko to many nieces and nephews, but nothing made her more proud than to be known as "Mom". Motherhood was her identity and nothing filled her heart more than mothering Logan and Lexi. They were her entire world. To know Karen was to love her. She left a gaping hole in all of our hearts and the world will never be the same without her. Surviving are her children, Logan and Lexi Ellison; mother and father, Sandra and Randall Banks (Daddy O); sisters, Jamie MacNeill (Kris Helms) and Kaylee (Cole) Kelly; brothers, Bryan Banks and Blake Leach (that she absolutely adored) her cousin and best friend, Jillian (Blaine) Peterson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her grandfather, Daryl "Papa" Meeks and grandmother, Karen E. Backmeier. Karen's Motto- (Be Kind, Love and Peace!) A viewing will be held on Thursday September 29, 2022, for immediate family only. A celebration of life will follow at a later date & time. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
