Karen Sue CARR

CARR, Karen Sue, age 62, of Flint, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be Friday 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Karen was born July 17, 1948 in Flint the daughter of the late Harold Paul and Mary Lou (Daley) Wilson. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Michigan University and was previously employed by Flint Public Library with Children's Community Service as a story teller and teacher. Karen was a volunteer at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for the Little Flower Guild, the choir and the CCD program. She also was active in the Bentley High School Band Boosters. More than anything, Karen was a devoted mother and homemaker. Surviving are 3 daughters, Katherine Carr of Fenton, Julie Ann Carr of Flint, Laura E. Young of Fenton; 3 sisters, Sharon Koerber (Phil) of Davison, Sandi DuFresne (Ron) of Flint, Kim Robinson (Brad) of Plano, TX; 2 nieces, Janae Fear (Frank) of Owosso, Cara Lee (Jim) Cook of Phoenix, AZ; 2 great-nephews, Avery and Eli Fear of Owosso; great-niece, Anna Cook of Phoenix; 2 sisters-in-law, Maxine Dubois (Gib) of Grand Rapids and Sandy Allison of Flushing; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and family members. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Fernelius; brother, John Allison and beloved family dog, Bootsie.
