Justin Fortney

FORTNEY, Justin Alan, of Linden, age 50, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 12 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Justin was born on November 1, 1972 to proud parents, Darrell and Gale (DeBolt) Fortney. He spent his boyhood years living on Stages Island (Lobdell Lake) with his family and attended Linden High Schools through graduation in 1990. Justin has a big heart and a groovy soul. He loved the lake and spent as much time as he could swimming, boating, or floating around the swim hole. Justin loved music and regularly attended concerts throughout his life. He was never far from his friends, family, or the water. Justin knew how to have a good time and will be sadly missed by many.

Justin worked for the Edward Rose and Sons Company in Grand Blanc, until his battle with cancer wouldn't allow him to continue. He spent the remaining years fighting the good fight and relaxing with family and neighborhood friends.

Justin is survived by his mother, Gale Fortney; sister, Sadie (Mike) Shepard; nieces, Abigail and Sidney; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong pals. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell in 1992. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
