Justin Burgess

BURGESS, Justin James "Boone"- Age 20, of Gaines, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at University Hospital, Ann Arbor.  Funeral Services will be held 5:00 PM Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Cremation will take place following the service, burial of Boone's along with his grandma Malone's cremated remains will be held at an later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Gaines.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Friday and 1:00 PM until time of the service Saturday.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Justin James Burgess Memorial Fund to be used for a scholarship.  Justin was born June 19, 1987 in Flint, the son of Donald Gordon II and Kathleen Mary (Sova) Burgess and had resided in Gaines his entire life.  He graduated with Honors in 2005 from Swartz Creek High School.  He had been a member of the Mid Michigan Wrestling Association.  He had done volunteer work at Hurley Medical Center, he worked with a special friend, Officer Linda at Gaines Elementary on gun safety and was a student assistant with special education.  He also had worked as a runway model on the side.  Surviving are:  his parents, Donald and Kate Burgess of Gaines; sister, Angela Burgess of Flint; grandparents, Don Burgess and wife Sue of Flint, Dallas Malone of Fenton; special cousins, Cory, Cassie, Dante, Ericka and Heidi; special aunt, Gayle Heathcoat; special friends, Katie and Jenn; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his special dogs.  He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Alene Sova and Marilyn Malone; cousins, Amy Martin, Jim Bogue, Dominique Martin and Taylor Malone.  In death as in life Justin continued to show his compassionate and giving nature by donating his hair after the service to Locks of Love.
