June Hicks

Hicks, June C. - Age 92, of  Traverse City, died December 9, 2022. Private services will be held. A celebration of life will be held summer of 2023. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. June was born June 3, 1930 in Flint the daughter of Harold and Wilhelmina (Donley) Bigelow. She was a 1948 graduate of Flint Central High School. She married  James P. Hicks on June 25, 1965 in Davison; he preceded her in death October 19, 2022. She had resided in Traverse City and Davison and wintered for many years in Davenport, FL.June enjoyed Genealogy and Needlepoint.  Surviving are: three children James (Marie) Wyant of Ellsworth, Michigan, Julie (Steve) Shaw of Florida, Donald Wyant of New Lothrop; stepchildren, Gary Hicks of Traverse City, Robert (Kathy) Hicks of Grand Blanc, Susan (Mark) Parvin of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Jacqueline (George) Woods of Swartz Creek; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; step-son, James Hicks Jr.; three sisters, Beverly Bigelow, Gwendolyn Firman, and Sue Ellen Dallis.
